Why Philippa London Makes in Britain

This October, I’m hosting the British Made Luxury Pop-Up — a celebration of craftsmanship, creativity, and the enduring value of British design. I’ve invited three British-made brands to join Philippa London at our space on the King’s Road, each sharing a belief in quality, authenticity, and timeless style. The aim is simple: to shine a light on brands that make here in the UK and keep British manufacturing alive.

Being the founder of Philippa London, I’ve always believed that making in Britain isn’t just a slogan — it’s a line in the sand. It stands for integrity, high standards, and respect for the true meaning of “British Made.” It’s also the foundation that has allowed Philippa London to grow slowly and surely into what it is today.

Every Philippa London garment is made here in the UK. That gives me full control — from design to delivery — and protects our core mission: to create beautifully made clothing that lasts a lifetime. I love working directly with our fabric suppliers, British mills, pattern cutters, machinists, and factories — talented people who take immense pride in their craft.

Because we manufacture mainly in London, we’re able to offer a bespoke service across the range — adjusting lengths or details so each piece can be treasured for years to come. Making locally keeps our supply chains short, reduces waste, and supports the incredible skills and expertise that exist right here in Britain.

I’ll continue to make in Britain because I believe in doing things properly. To me, luxury means quality, transparency, and respect for craft — not clever marketing.

If a brand wants to trade on British heritage, it should make in Britain. That’s the principle the British Made Luxury Pop-Up stands for — and it’s one that Philippa London will never compromise on.
