The background of the A Line Silhouette

You can see that Philippa London is a big advocate of the

A line silhouette

as seen in our skirt and dress collection,

so we thought it would be interesting to explain the back ground of the silhouette and why the A line is so timeless.

The A line silhouette has a rich history dating back from the mid 20th century during the fashion evolution.  The classic silhouette was popularised by the French designer Christian Dior in the late 1950’s in his revolutionary “H=Line” Collection where apon the aline silhouette was born.

The A line silhouette emphasises the waist the flow of the flarring out skirt, making the waist appearing narrower thus forever more the perfect timeless silhouette!

If you have any comments to add we would be delighted to hear from you.
