Why Philippa London Makes in Britain — Part Two: Less Than 3%

Less than 3% of the clothing worn in Britain is made here.

At Philippa London, every garment is proudly made in the UK, with the majority produced in London.

For me, making in Britain isn’t simply a slogan—it is a line in the sand.

It represents integrity, high standards and respect for the true meaning of “British Made.”

Producing locally gives me control throughout the process, from design to delivery.

I work closely with our fabric suppliers, British mills, pattern cutters, machinists and factories—talented people who take immense pride in their craft.

As we manufacture mainly in London, we can produce in limited quantities, make many pieces to order and offer bespoke adjustments across the collection.

Lengths and details can be adapted to create clothing that fits beautifully and is designed to be worn and treasured for years.

Making locally also keeps our supply chain close, helps us avoid unnecessary production and supports the specialist skills that still exist here in Britain.

This October, I’m hosting the British Made Luxury Pop-Up on the King’s Road. I’ve invited three British-made brands to join Philippa London, each sharing our belief in craftsmanship, authenticity and enduring design. Together, we want to shine a light on the brands that genuinely make here and help keep British manufacturing alive.

I will continue to make in Britain because I believe in doing things properly. To me, luxury means quality, transparency and respect for craft—not simply clever marketing.

If a brand wants to trade on British heritage, I believe it should make in Britain. That is the principle behind the British Made Luxury Pop-Up—and one Philippa London will never compromise on.

Please contact Pip if you want to join us in any of our pop ups 2026.
